I believe Peter Steele might have made racist comments in the past. I also believe a lot of people say a lot of shit they regret when they are young, and they change (Black Judd from Nachtmystium comes to mind).

Then again, I also love Burzum.

 ???

I wouldn't give dude from Nachtmystium the benefit of the doubt, I got a copy of Eulogy IV (#/500) on vinyl and it SUCKED. Plus the dude from Neptune Records who used to work at King Cobra said they were supposedly total douches when they got kicked off that tour throwing shit out of windows.

As for a fall song mix for RCMTC?

"Meladori Magpie" - Smashing Pumpkins (Aeroplane Flies High/B-side)
"Counting Off the Days" - Trail of Dead (Secret of Elena's Tomb EP)
"I Don't Need You" - My Bloody Valentine (Ecstasy EP)
"Elevation" - Television (Marquee Moon)
"Repulsion" - Dinosaur Jr. (s/t)
"Gray Sunset" - Ariel Pink (The Doldrums)
"Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?" - Prince (s/t)
"Here Comes the Rain Again" - Eurythmics (Touch)
"New Dawn Fades" - Joy Division (Unknown Pleasures)
"I Wish I Was A Girl" - Pink Fairies (Kings of Oblivion)
"Let It All Go" - Jay Reatard (Matador Singles 06-07)
"I Want Wind to Blow" - the Microphones (the Glow, pt. 2)
"(You're) Safe In Your Sleep (From This Girl)" - My Bloody Valentine (Ecstasy EP)
"Dinner Bells" - Wolf Parade (Apologies to the Queen Mary)

I am in Massachusetts though (maybe NYC tomorrow night), so I will have to phone this one in. Bummer, too, this is a good one! After the first two songs, at least.

Oh, I'm sure Blake Judd is a total douche. But when people asked him about an anti-Semitic comment he made, he said "I was young and stupid and said something I didn't mean." That's fine with me. I said a lot of stupid shit when I was 18 too. (Also, Nachtmysium's album Assassins: Black Meddle Pt. 1 is the jam.)

You're right, if you took that Trail of Dads song off your mix, it would be all killer!

Yeah, I should probably listen to some of their other albums, but I think it's totally hilarious how he talks about Pink Floyd being his favorite band, and how dreamy he thinks Roger Waters is. I mean, I like Animals too, but...

You'll hear the Pink Floyd influence heavily on Assassins. It's almost not fair to call the closing trilogy of songs "black metal."
