Review from Razorcake Magazine, Sandwiches!!!:
DAMAGE DONE, THE:
Scream All of Our Clichés: CD
Sometimes you go out of your way to find some new types of food to eat. And other times you make another peanut butter and jelly sandwich, only to realize that you’re out of peanut butter. So you go to the store and find that they are out of the brand you usually buy, so you grab the off-brand that you’ve never tried before. You make your sandwich and it tastes like you expected, except one little tinge of flavor that’s different. You end up with something you enjoy, it’s not new or different, but because of how familiar it is, you appreciate at least partially trying something unusual. The Damage Done are much like that peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You hear the sounds of Jawbreaker and Lifetime like you have before, with a voice that’s a bit off, but still good. Recommended. –Bryan Static (Better Half, no address listed)

I really like The Damage Done but would never compare their sound to Jawbreaker or Lifetime...they sound nothing like either, style wise or songwriting wise...unless of course you have never listened to either. Music journalism is so far off the mark these days! They can't even draw accurate/relevant comparisons for a good band in a review. Boo Razorcake Reviewer!!! Yeah Damage Done!!!

They suprisingly get a lot of comparisons to Lifetime.  I don't get it, but I'll take it!

Some of Razorcake's reviews are a complete joke. Not to turn this into talking about my band (again, because that's apparently all I do on this board), but when they reviewed our split 7" with Same-Sex Dictator, they said we basically sounded just like them. We sound NOTHING like them. I kind of feel like if it's outside their particular box, they don't know what to do with a record.

i can understand a bit of the lifetime reference, as some of their songs are linear, or have a lot of parts, but i don't think the parts sound the same.

it's not a bad comparison re: jawbreaker and lifetime, but not accurate either.

to me, they sound like a big awesome scary monster under my bed that gives me smiles, chills and candy. i now have cavities because of it, but i didn't need my teeth anyway.

hooray for the damage done!

Yeah, I mean, the songwriting definitely takes BIG pulls off of both of these fifths.  The band itself doesn't instantly make you think of those bands, but the songs definitely are from the same brand of songwriting.
