Tim Burton's good films:
Big Fish
Sleepy Hollow
Ed Wood
Batman
Batman Returns
Edward Scissorhands
Beetlejuice
Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Frankenweenie

Bad Films:
Chocolate Factory
Planet of the Apes
Mars Attacks (Not really bad, but not really good either)
Sweeny Todd
Corpse Bride

Overall that's a pretty good track record.

And he didn't direct Nightmare before x-mas, he just produced it.

Looking at your list, I realize I like/love most of his movies. I would move Mars Attacks and Sweeny Todd up into the "good" list, and I even enjoyed Corpse Bride and Chocolate Factory enough to give them a pass.

Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice are two of my favourite movies ever.

That's an unfair comparison.  The crazies was amazing!

I haven't seen it yet, but i am this weekend and am pretty stoked. The original was a good idea but the filming was so terrible it made 70s porn look legit. I have the original poster on my wall and have been eagerly waiting for the remake.

It's a pretty solid film.  Everyone really does well in it and most plot issues are resolved believably.  It's definitely better than the original, it's just too bad it wasn't released 30 years ago when it would have been considered "ground breaking."

I saw it Friday night with friends.  It's a generic Young Adult Fantasy 101 plot using the Alice In Wonderland / Through the Looking Glass characters.  The music is a Danny Elfman score, not crappy mall pop/rock (except for the closing credits).  I'd give it a 6.5/10.

Solid movie. It was not too over the top, good plot, good acting, no stupid one liners. The only weird thing is I felt really dizzy for like an hour after watching it...

You're talking about The Crazies right?

It was pretty hand held camera intense, but that's what the kiddies are into these days.

The cinematography was done by the same guy that did High Tension and I thought he did an excellent job.  Very disturbing and jarring camera movements

Saw Alice in Wonderland. Thought it was awful to mediocre, depending on the part.
Costumes were pretty, Anne Hathaway was funny.

But it's not that shaky. that's what was so weird. I mean I made it through blair witch and cloverfield just fine. Maybe it was the intensity of the movie...

Yes, it's a musical the adapted for the screen. I'm suprised at how many people didn't know that.

Also saw Alice in Wonderland this weekend and it's not bad.
