The Anxieties - The Next Mutation
« on: April 08, 2009, 10:02:29 PM »

Our first full-length CD. It's available from all the major download retailers (iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, etc.), Interpunk, Green Noise, Mutant Pop, and directly from us at www.theanxieties.com. You can hear most of the songs on our myspace page at www.myspace.com/anxieties.

Here are some quick reviews:

Rocktober Magazine
"Anxieterrific! Silly but awesome new wave punk that made me pogo shamelessly (well, maybe that's impossible, but with minimal shame)."

Maximum Rock’N’Roll
"Hell yeah! This one surprised me. Why have I never heard of this band before? Upon listening to this, I would have guessed that The Anxieties are from Denton or Austin or somewhere from the Southwest, just judging by other bands that have come from there that sound similar. A quick web search reveals that they're from Portland, OR of all places. When I think of Portland, I think crust- heavy, dark crust. This couldn't be further from that. It's some fast rock 'n' roll influenced punk, sounding somewhat like The Reds or a snottier version of the Marked Men. See the Texas references? There's not much more to say, other than these guys know how to rock!" - (BD)

A collision between Richard Hell, the Weirdos, and the Rip-Offs can’t be a bad thing. The Anxieties hail from the Right-To-Die state where good music constantly falls from the trees like Newtonian apples into the proverbial Garden of Eden, and rampaging meth-heads haunt the dreams of dentists everywhere. If the song title “I Hate Myself (But I Hate You More)” resonates with your sardonic sense of humor, then you and I should drink beer and listen to this album together. – Ben
