I'm glad I'm not the only future diabetic that double-fists Cokes.

Oh come now, Wolfgang, you (and I both) wish we had abs like that so it wouldn't matter if we double fisted cokes!

I dont see why this was a pitch to make fun of Frat Boys...replace those cokes with Rainier and I've seen something similar to this at every single show I've ever been to

I don't think it's necessarily the actions being made fun of (because who here hasn't sucked on their best bud's nipple over a few ice cold Cokes?), it's the fact that frat boys do this kind of stuff while typically being known for being homophobes.

I'm pretty sure that when you milk a frat boy, Keystone Light comes out of one nipple and Axe body spray comes out of the other.

I don't really think it's fair for you guys to automatically assume they're homophobic because they're frat boys. That's just as bad as calling someone Pro-Rape.

On a related note, we should probably be really careful not to assume that they're not Pro-Rape (or at the very least, not Pro-Date-Rape) just because they're frat boys...

I don't really think it's fair for you guys to automatically assume they're homophobic because they're frat boys. That's just as bad as calling someone Pro-Rape.

88% of African-Americans in California who voted on Proposition 8 voted in favor of it. I think at that point it is fair to say that in general, African-American culture in the United States is homophobic. Of course that doesn't include everyone, but it's a pretty huge majority.

Likewise, frat culture is pretty known for shaming men who are gay or are perceived to "act gay." Of course it's not true in every single instance, but it's common enough that I feel the stereotype stands up.

And there's nothing wrong with calling a pro-rape spade exactly what it is.

i have known several girls raped by frat boys. i know of fraternities that had "sensitivity training" and they all just sat around and laughed like it was a joke. Thus, I am going to assume that every frat boy is a homphobic piece of shit rapist. Just like I am going to presume that every Republican is a homophobic piece of shit racist. It is their job to prove me wrong, not vice-versa.

It's like saying "Hey, look at that Vegan, they don't eat animal products!" Yeah, safe assumption, just like how frat boys are homophobes!

I'm sorry that you have a small-minded view of the world.  Tolerance is key dude.  I would have expected more out of you.

How Relevant is this? I was in the U-district working at the big ol QFC in U-village yesterday evening (Wed.) and in rolled a group of about 7 "Frat Boys" (Frat Identified with Greek Symbolism on their garb) and in a mere 6 minutes of working in the beverage section near them the words "Faggot", "Homo", "Pole Smoker, and "queer" were used by them in derogatory fashion...and in reference to them making fun of each other with what they deemed as insulting. 6 minutes of observation was all it took to further illustrate this point of connection to Frat Boys and homophobia!! In thirty one years of existence this has been the consistent behavior of "Frat Boys" Out of all the "Frat Boys" I have observed/worked with/met, rarely has a "Frat Boy" strayed from this behavior and mindset... but, the ones who have stood out and acted behaved different then this, I deemed them to be good people regardless of their "Frat-ass" affiliation.
I think it is pretty safe to say and generalize "Frat boys" as Homophobic just like it is pretty safe to say and generalize that "Punks" are liberal/socially conscious just as it is pretty safe to say and generalize that Seattle-ites are passive aggressive. I wanted to ask them how many "date rapes" they had participated in... but I really feared the answer!

the only difference is that the examples you've shown of other types of generalization were fairly positive in comparison to the fratophobe one.

i'm not saying there aren't large numbers of sexist/homophobic frat guys, but let's just stop generalizing everything and soak up a persons identity and make judgements based on the specific person and not the group they associate with. It's honestly comparable to me saying all women are crazy, and everyone knows how well that went over.

Ha! Which part of "but, the ones who have stood out and acted behaved different then this, I deemed them to be good people regardless of their "Frat-ass" affiliation" did you not comprehend? It's ok that you want to join a Frat Tyler... just don't be a Homophobe!
